OH Hai Github users your login to Geeklist is live

You demanded it and we delivered. You can now log in to your Geeklist account using your Github authentication!

As we are growing faster and breaking the half-a-million registered activities mark, more and more developers have been requesting Github sign in, not to mention we are heavy Github users. [here’s our account] So here it is:

[ Note: If you’re already signed up for Geeklist with another authentication, log in with your original auth, go to your settings and link up your Github account. From that point forward you can sign in with Github instead. ]

For a little background on our path to fully integrate with Github, back in December we did an early integration with Github which allowed you to publish featured repos into Geeklist, push code commits live into the Geeklist stream and store them in your own code pages. Since then we’ve seen thousands of code pages added and  you can watch code commits push into Geeklist in the Discovery stream or ‘Code’ stream:

More recently, in mid June, we became the first company to push code commits from your Github repo into into the Facebook Open Graph via Geeklist. Here’s the blog post on it.

These steps were innovative and ground-breaking moves that get to the very core of why we exist; to make developers lives better. The value of sharing specific repos that you chose to showcase along with automatic or #gklst command pushes of code commits allows your peers to follow your coding in real-time while building up a history of what you would like the developer and company world to see. Not to mention it’s pretty cool to get a High Five (^5) on your code commits and code pages. They all add up to more GeekCred too.

Now that you can log in using Github we’re looking forward to becoming a centralized place for developers to watch repos, share links, ^5 code commits and just be awesome together. Speaking of awesome, huge congratulations to Jacob once again! He rolled right off of the recent Links Up-voting/Down-voting release and BAM pushed out Github login seamlessly without skipping a beat. ^5 Jacob and the entire dev team for continuing to roll out great features and improvements day after day.

So what are you waiting for? Go link up your Github accounts and show some repo greatness!

From the Geeklist founders - Reuben and Christian

(p.s. Happy Birthday partner!)
